Carmel Modern

In April of 2025, I opened Carmel Modern with just two artists, Lucas Blok and myself. As we continue to make a name for ourselves in Carmel’s colorful art landscape, we will continue to support and host other local artists. We’ve since added Tracey Adams, Jim Dultz, Stephen Foss and Elizabeth Hale, and each artist has created unique and complementary work. The response from the community and collectors, domestically and internationally, has been incredibly positive.  Carmel Modern addresses a unique niche in the vibrant Carmel art community.

Carmel Art Association

Founded in 1927, Carmel’s oldest gallery features the work of 80 professional local artists, and is dedicated to presenting only the finest work for sale by artists living on the Monterey Peninsula.  All artists are selected through a jury process which opens annually each Spring.  The Carmel Art Association displays a wide variety of styles and media, and changes its exhibitions every month. The historic building provides exhibition space for its members’ works and in the interest of community involvement sponsors art talks and demonstrations, youth art exhibitions, and special fund-raising events. The Carmel Art Association is a 501(c)(3).
